LIKE A BIRD ON A WIRE
Valentines day has come and gone, and I hope you all had a happy one. Some like to protest the holiday, I just try to ignore is as best I can. I always seem to be delightfully unattached this time of year, so I usually have a date with Jack Shepard.
This year, I spent the big V-day with a few old friends. I had lunch with Maust at Taco Surf, met Cameron and Sycz at Amoeba, and then headed with Sycz to the Orpheum Theater downtown. We spent our night with this guy and this guy. It ruled. Highlight(s) include: Mike grinning like a schoolboy while shaking Kris Kristofferson's hand, and Mike and I chilling with Brian Wilson in his dressing room after the show as he nervously asks us (repeatedly) if he sounded OK, if his hair looked good, and if his dance moves were alright. Of course, the answer to all the questions was YES.
BEST VALENTINES DAY EVER. No, really. I mean it.
Our "house cooling" party was lovely - it was so nice to see so many people I love under one roof. Its all starting to hit me that I'm leaving in TEN days. Everything seems so final, and each day brings me closer to this new chapter of my life.
I'm already homesick, and I haven't even left Long Beach.
I love this place, but I know I have to leave for awhile.
Anyway, enough of that for now. Just needed to get that off my chest.
